IF JOB$= NOT "PIRATE" THEN INPUT JOB$

BASIC - Part 159: In which we get to know the pirates properly, you know, as people.

LET WORLD=SMALL

BASIC - Part 158: In which..actually, of all the strips, this is the one that will be the most puzzling if you haven't read the rest.  So..I guess...Part 158: In which further events transpire and we find our friends know our other friends.

INPUT WRONG$

BASIC - Part 157: In which Miriam scores a point because she's like that.
By the way, people.  REALLY glad to be back.  Thanks for all the kind words, both in the comments and on twitter.  You are the greatest, really.

IF TIME=FEB THEN RETURN

BASIC - Part 156: WE'RE BACK!  Thanks for putting up with the absence, unavoidable I'm afraid - life's been kind of crazy.  But no matter, it's wonderful to be back to normal.  So yeah, Pirates and dinosaurs! Woo!  And a return of a character who hasn't had anything to say since strip 25 - whoever said this would be easy to follow? :)

LET ALL$(4 TO 6)="WRIITSSTS"

BASIC - Part 155: In which BASIC shows how good he'd be with lids.  Remember chaps and chapiatrixes, we're going to be taking a season break with this little comic, coming back on Feb 4th.
I'm sure there'll be minor updates before then, but anyway, sorry for the break.  I'm genuinely touched that you still find time out of your week, despite all the other glittering distractions of modern life, to come and visit my little story.  BASIC will return in February, I absolutely guarantee that!

PRINT "THEY": GOSUB UP

BASIC - Part 154: A way out and a bit of actual common sense!

INPUT"ALLY";PIRATES"?"

BASIC - Part 153: For reasons we already know, Pirates are about as good at aiming as Imperial Stormtroopers.  So what gives?

LET ROBOTS=ROBOTS+1: LET ROBOTS=ROBOTS-2

BASIC - Part 152: Now there's something you don't expect to find embedded in an electrical store!

PRINT THAT$;" INAPPROPRIATE": INPUT A: PRINT A/0

BASIC - Part 151: In which we see that motion controls are nothing new.

Oh, oh!  Important newsy type flash.  When we hit issue 155 I'm going to call a bit of a 'season break'.  I've basically got loads of work on and I don't want to let my beloved comic suffer one bit as a result.  So, I figure if Fox can do it, so can I - we'll have a season break reconvening in early February.  In the meantime there will (hopefully) be a T-shirt design and a web site redesign - probably some other stuff too.

Anyway, sorry about that, but I can't see any other way to keep BASIC as good as I want it to be.

IF ISSUE=150 THEN GOSUB 39

BASIC - Part 150:  Hang on...150 issues?!!?  Good lord.  Anyway, today Miriam learns a little bit about their predicament.

Incidentally, there is a small piece of equipment in this issue.  For anyone who's wondering about it's significance - we need to look WAY back to issue 39.
